Decision-Making
Structure and Creativity Are Not Opposites
The false opposition
Somewhere along the way, we started treating structure and creativity as enemies. The creative person breaks the rules; the structured person follows them.
In my experience, the opposite is true. The most genuinely creative decisions come from people who understand the structure they are working within deeply enough to know which rule is load-bearing and which is not.
Where decisions go wrong
Organisations and individuals make poor decisions for a handful of predictable reasons:
- They mistake familiarity for safety.
- They confuse speed with decisiveness.
- They reward confidence over curiosity.
The work
The Creativity & Decision-Making workshop is built for leadership and functional teams. It explores how decisions actually get made, the traps, the defaults, the quiet biases, and where creative thinking fits when the stakes are real.
Creativity without structure is noise. Structure without creativity is inertia.
The point is not to choose between them. It is to hold both at once.
